and Saturday, September 17th 1:00-3:00pm

Location: Mary's Scrapping Studio, Peterborough

Cost: $15.00 for the Friday class and $10.00 for the Saturday class

Maximum 8 participants per day.

At this class you will create a layout using the Cathedral Window Paper Folding Technique.

Templates of different sizes will be provided, and four sample layouts will be on display.

Paper and adhesive will be available for purchase.

Please let me know if you will be attending, and your choice of the Friday or Saturday class.

Materials Needed:

• one or more photos
• paper to coordinate with your photos (double or single-sided)
• paper trimmer
• adhesive
• bone folder (I have one to share)
• Custom Cutting System mat, circle shapes and cutting blades (I have a set to share)
• 12"/30cm ruler

Paper and adhesive will be available for purchase.

How to create layout:
Use White Cardstock as the base.
Using the Jumbo Wavy Square Pattern (outside of template) and the Red Blade, cut a wavy square from the yellow pattern paper.  Adhere to the center of the White Cardstock.
Using the Jumbo Circle Pattern (inside of template) and the Red Blade, cut a circle from the purple stripe paper.  Adhere to the center of the yellow wavy square.
Cut two 8" strips of the Fabulous Paper Ribbon, (yellow and gray).  Adhere the gray strip on top the center of the yellow strip.  Adhere the layered strips 2-1/2" from the top of the circle.  Use an All-Purpose Scissors to trim off the excess, following the curve of the circle.
Apply the "Fabulous" Title Sticker to White Cardstock.  Cut around the word.  Use Foam Squares to adhere across the ribbon.
Adhere (2) 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" photos, as shown.
Adhere seven Paper Flowers randomly on the layout, using Foam Squares.
Computer journal, print on White Cardstock using AL Uncle Charles Font.  Cut in strips and adhere above the photos with the date below the photos.

At this workshop several different kinds of pennant banners will be demonstrated.

One sample layout is attached.

Additional layouts using other types of pennants will be on display at the workshops.

Each participant will receive templates for a variety of different sized pennants.

Materials needed for the workshop:

• any number of photographs
• paper and cardstock to compliment your photos
• adhesive
• paper trimmer
• scoring blade for trimmer or bone folder
• embroidery floss, hemp twine, string or other fibre to hang banner (optional)
• brads or embellishments (optional)
• scissors

How to create:
Adhere an 11” x 11” piece of White Cardstock to the center of a Cheerful Valentines Addition pink heart paper.
Cut out a rectangular section of Cheerful Valentines love paper so that you have a border of the words Love all around the outside of the rectangle.  Your finished piece should be 9" x 4-1/2".
Adhere piece to the White Cardstock, as shown.
Adhere a 6-1/2” x 1” strip of blue photo mat paper, tucking 1/4” under the bottom of the love paper.
Using the Love Struck Maker, punch a border of hearts along the edge of a red photo mat.  Then cut out a strip to create a heart border, leaving a bit more at the top for adhesive.
Adhere the strip under blue border as shown on layout.
Using an All-Purpose Scissors, cut out a heart leaving a tiny border of red from the Cheerful Valentines Addition Paper and adhere to bottom right corner of paper the strips.
Adhere photo's to Cheerful Valentines Addition pink and red paper and cut around photo creating a thin border.
Adhere to center of heart, using Foam Squares under one photo to pop it up from the page.
Adhere Title Stickers under red border, above heart and on photo as shown.
Adhere LOVE stickers with Foam Squares centered with blue border and apply off of the rectangle 1/4" out for visual balance
Adhere Love Birds sticker with Foam Squares, placing branch under photo and over the photo, as shown.
Adhere Cutie Pie sticker as shown
Layer 3 heart stickers using Foam Squares between the two photos.  Using one of the arrow stickers - cut it in half to make it larger and then adhere to back side of bottom heart.

Kisses Treat Box Project Idea
Ingredients: Pink Lemonade Cardstock Taffy Cardstock 12-inch Rotary Trimmer Scoring Rotary Blade Primary Valentine Additions Photo Tape Scallop Circle Maker Foam Squares Limited Edition Classic Valentine Stickers How to Create: Cut Pink Lemonade Cardstock to 5-1/2" x 8". Score along the long side at 1", 3-1/2", 4-1/2" and 7". Score the short side at 1" and 4-1/2". On the long sides cut 4 one inch slits at the 4 score lines. Fold Box to shape and adhere with Photo Tape. With Primary Valentine Additions patterned paper, cut a mat for the top of the box 2-1/4" x 3-1/4". Edge box with one inch strips of patterend paper. Punch a solid scallop circle from Taffy Cardstock to layer on top of the box with Foam Squares. Decorate with Limited Edition Classic Valentine Stickers. Apply "Kisses" sticker from the Primary Valentines Additions stickers to the box as shown. Punch a heart with the Sweet Heart Maker out of a scrap of Primary Valentine Additions. Adhere it in the inside, bottom of box. Fill box with chocolate kisses.


To Warm Your Heart Cup

Ingredients: Disposable (Hot) Cup Plastic Spoon Tea Bags Primary Valentine Additions Circle Maker Black and White Paper Frames Black and White Ribbon Swirly ABC/123 Stickers Black Swirly ABC/123 Stickers White Precision Point Adhesive How to Create: Take a piece of decorative paper from the Primary Valentine Additions and cut it to fit around your selected disposable cup. (Note: it may make it easier to take apart an identical cup and trace a pattern so you get the arch of the cup's shape correctly to avoid puckering). Attach it to the cup. Adhere a black frame from the Black and White Paper Frames to front of cup using Precision Point Adhesive. Spell out "To Warm Your" using the Swirly ABC/123 Black and White Stickers. Use the black stickers under the white to create a shadow and pop the white letters. Attach a heart sticker from the Primary Valentine Additions to complete the title "To Warm Your (Heart)". Take tea bags and wrap a strip of Black and White Paper Ribbon around them to hold them together. Adhere with tape runner. Cut a 1-1/4" circle and a 1-1/2" circle from dotted pattern Primary Valentine Additions paper using the Circle Maker. Adhere them to the front of the tea bags with a Tape Runner and embellish with a large heart sticker. Cut two more 1-1/2" circles with the Circle Maker and select one more heart sticker. Put adhesive on both circles and sandwich the top of a plastic spoon handle in between them. Embellish with the selected heart sticker from the Primary Valentine Additions. Take one remaining tea bag, partially open and pull out the tag and string. Cut a 2-1/2" x 1-1/4" piece of the Primary Valentine Additions paper. Fold in half and adhere around tea bag tag. Embellish with a small title sticker from Primary Valentine Additions.



Love Fortune Cookies

Ingredients: Espresso Cardstock Primary Valentine Additions Fine-tip Pen Berry Precision Point Adhesive All-purpose Scissors CCS 12" x 12" Mat and Blades CCS Circle Patterns How to Create: Cut a 4-1/4" circle from Espresso Cardstock using the CCS Small Circle Pattern and Blue Blade. Fold the circle in half and make a small cut in the center of the fold, going about 1/2" deep. Unfold. Fold in half the other direction, make a second 1/2" deep cut to form an "X" shape in the center of the circle. Refold. Gently curl the edge of the half circle nearest to you in, (wrapping the paper around your fingers once, makes a nice gentle curl) to create a slight tube shape. Push the paper in at the center (at the cut) and pull the edges toward each other. Adhere using the Precision Point Adhesive in the center between the sides. Use a clothes pin to hold sides together while the adhesive is drying. Cut a strip (or use a scrap) of pink paper from Primary Valentine Additions approx. 1/2" x 4-1/2". Using the Fine-tip Berry Pen, write "Fortunes" (Examples: You are going to fall in love. You will go on to do great things. Adventure is in your future. Beware of a (fill in the blank) woman tonight.) Once the adhesive is dry, take each fortune strip and slide them under the back fold of the cookie so that they are tucked up inside. You will be able to insert, remove, read and replace the fortunes without damaging the cookie shape.



Adore Luminary Project Idea

Ingredients: Brick Cardstock Primary Valentine Additions Expressions of the Heart Vellum Accents Limited Edition Classic Valentine Stickers Sweet Heart Maker Foam Squares Precision Point Adhesive Rotary Trimmer Custom Cutting System Ovals How to Create: Cut cardstock to 5-1/2”x 10 3/8”. Cut top edge with the deckle rotary blade. Then score at 2-1/2”, 5”, 7-1/2”, and 10”. Cut windows in 2 panels to accommodate vellum accents and cut smallest oval with the red blade on the outside. Fold on score lines to shape. Adhere vellum in place with Precision Point Adhesive. Adhere the side edge with photo tape. With the Primary Valentine Additions trim 1-1/2” strips to go along bottom edge. Using the Sweetheart Maker, punch four hearts from the pink and white patterned paper. Use Precision Point Adhesive to glue a small thread to one heart and then glue two hearts back to back. This way, as it turns both sides are finished. Glue the thread to the inside of your luminary with the center of the punched heart over the top. Decorate with Primary Valentine Additions Stickers and Limited Edition Classic Valentine Stickers. Adhere Delight Paper Flowers on side not shown. Use Foam Squares to raise hearts in the center of the paper flowers. Insert battery operated "tea-light" into the center of the luminary.

Scrapbook Layout Ideas & Digital Freebies!

Traditional Tuesday Project Idea

How to create layout:
Trim 1/4" off of all 4 sides of White Cardstock and adhere centered to blue Cheerful Winter Addition Paper .
Cut snowflake paper to 11-1/2" x 6-1/2" and adhere to center of White Cardstock with adhesive applied to bottom and top right of paper.  No adhesive is to be applied to left side and left top of paper when placing on the White Cardstock.
Adhere snowflake border sticker to bottom of paper.
Mat a 6” x 4” photo onto a purple Cheerful Winter Addition photo mat and adhere in center of snowflake paper as shown.
Crop 2nd photo to 3-3/4" x 2-1/2" and mat using green Cheerful Winter Addition Paper.
Adhere to page, sliding under larger photo in a pleasing angle.
To achieve the rolled corner, take upper left corner of snowflake paper and start rolling it downwards.  You will want to keep the left hand bottom corner very tightly rolled and allow the top right hand side to
become looser to achieve an asymmetrical look.  You may find it helpful to put a slight crease with your finger at the bottom left hand side to hold the roll in place better.
Unroll paper slightly backwards and gently apply adhesive to paper and roll back to desired position.  A good trick is to place a pen or pencil inside of the roll to push down of the adhesive and keep it there until it is good and set.  Again a slight crease at the top will help it stay in place.
Using a striped photo mat, slide into position under the rolled corner to align all of the edges as shown.  Adhere to White Cardstock .
Adhere remaining left and upper part of snowflake paper that was not previously adhered.
Using the Large Circle Pattern (inside of template) and the Red Blade, cut a circle from White Cardstock.  Slide under the two photo's and adhere.
Apply title using Simple ABC/123 Stickers (black) placing around the outside of the circle, as shown.
Adhere phrase sticker over photo on right hand side as shown.
Adhere outer circle of Brr.. phrase sticker to blue paper and cut out around the sticker using an All-Purpose Scissors.
Adhere inner portion of circle sticker (got snow) onto green paper and cut around it.  Adhere both to page by sliding one under photos and one above photo using Foam Squares, as shown.
Apply snowflake sticker surrounding circle as shown, using Foam Squares.
Using All-Purpose Scissors cut out various snowflake stickers from remaining  snowflake paper and adhere them onto white circle with adhesive and Foam Squares.
Using the Tag Maker, punch a tag from White Cardstock.  Apply sticker to the top of tag and adhere to blue paper.  Use Scissors to cut around the tag, leaving a thin border.
Journal on the tag and slide in under rolled paper.
Create layout using:

Tag Maker

Traditional Tuesday Scrapbooking Project Idea {Winter}

How to create Winter Layout:

Use the striped Cheerful Winter Paper as the base.

Cut the Purple dotted paper 10" x 10". Using your Corner Maker, round the top right and the bottom left corners and adhere to the base, approx. 1/2" from the bottom edge.

Cut a 6" x 3-1/2" strip of snowflake paper and adhere across the page about 3-1/2” from the bottom of the layout.

Trim a 6" x 2-3/4" strip of the blue paper using the Wavy Rotary Blade and adhere it to the snowflake strip using your Precision Point Adhesive.

The photo collage was done using the photo program, Picnik. The actual sizes are:  4 photos sized at 2-3/4” x 1-1/2" and 4 photos sized at 1-1/2" x 1".  Adhere the photo collage 1-1/2” from the bottom of the snowflake paper.

Trim a piece of paper 6” x 1/4” using the Wavy Rotary Blade and adhere it above the photos.

Apply the “snowflakes” sticker to purple paper, and cut around the sticker, using an All-Purpose Scissors.  Adhere the middle of the layout, using Foam Squares.
Apply the additional stickers, as shown.

Apply the year, using Swirly Monograms (white) above the photos.

Using a ruler and a Fine-tip Black Pen, handwrite your journaling at the bottom of the page.
